Pixel Edition · last updated 2026-10-16

Pixel Edition is a casual game made by Pine Creative. This page says, in plain language, what the game stores and shares. It covers the web version at pixeledition.pine-creative.com.

No accounts

There is no sign-up or login. We don't ask for your name, email address or any other contact details to play.

Your progress stays on your device

The game saves your progress in your browser's local storage: your best scores and stars, your streak, the character you picked, your sound and vibration settings, and a short history of the games you played (used to race your own ghost and to vary the Roll). It is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it. The game sets no cookies.

No analytics, no ads, no tracking

This version of the game has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind: it doesn't count players, record how you play or send gameplay data to us or anyone else. The one exception is the link you ask for when you tap Share (next section). If that ever changes, we will update this page and its date before it does.

Sending a game

When you tap Share, the game may ask our server for a short link. The link holds the game's seed, your score and your replay (a list of when you tapped), and how many people have passed it on. It contains no name, account or contact detail. A link stops working within an hour of the last person to play it, and everything about it is deleted within 48 hours. To limit abuse, your device sends a random code that we keep only as a scrambled counter for up to 2 hours; it is not linked to the link and not shared. We do not store your IP address; our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes it to deliver the service. If the server cannot be reached, Share sends plain text instead.

Fonts

The pixel font (Press Start 2P, SIL Open Font License) is built into the page. The game does not load fonts or any other files from third parties.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website, the host handles each request to it (your IP address, the page asked for, your browser type) to deliver the page and keep it secure. The game also asks our own site for a small file (daily.json) that can change the day's newspaper headline; that is an ordinary request to the same host and carries nothing about you. We don't use these logs to identify players.

Sharing

When you share a result or a challenge, you choose where it goes using your device's share sheet or by copying the text. A challenge link carries a game code, a score and a short record of the taps in that run, in the part of the address after the #, which browsers don't send to the site's server.

Children

Pixel Edition is not designed for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Changes and contact
